Barrel Grades and Twist Rates
We offer several different grades of barrels as described below:
Standard Grade: These are 4140 Chromoly barrels with a matte parkerized
finish.
These barrel blanks are manufactured by ER Shaw, Adams and Bennet or Wilson.
These barrels are better quality than the barrels you find on typical mass produced
rifles.
Standard grade twist rates are subject to vendor availability and you can not
specify a twist rate.
Match Grade: These are 4140 Chromoly barrels with a matte parkerized
finish.
These barrel blanks are manufactured by Shilen or Douglas.
These barrels are premium quality and are only found on custom built guns and
match rifles.
You can specify either maker and the twist rate that you want from the table
below.
Stainless Match Grade: These are 416 Stainless Steel barrels with a bead blasted
matte finish.
These barrel blanks are manufactured by Shilen or Douglas.
These barrels are premium quality and are only found on custom built guns and
match rifles.
You can specify either maker and the twist rate that you want from the table
below.
Super Match Grade: These are 4140 Chromoly or 416 Stainless barrels
with a matte finish.
These barrel blanks are manufactured by Shilen, Douglas, PacNor, Lija, Hart
or Krieger .
These are the highest quality hand lapped and air gauged barrels available and are usually found on
bench rest rifles.
Some of the maker's twist rates are on the table below, but there are too many to list them all.
You can pick a number of grooves from many of these barrel makers.
Prices on these barrels are by quotation only, and subject to long lead times.
